As I said on my home page, I've been taking pictures at Coventry Speedway since 1983 and been a speedway fan all of my life (I used to go with my parents when I was a baby!).
When I was young, I always wanted to become a speedway rider but never made it, instead, I competed in Trials riding for many years. When I gave up riding trials, I took up photography, first at Grass Track meetings and then eventually at Coventry Speedway after I showed some of my pictures to Martin Ochiltree who was promoter back in those days.
My camera equipment includes:
2 Canon EOS 1D bodies (a 1DX and a Mk IV)
300mm f2.8 prime
200 f1.8 prime
70 - 210mm f2.8 zoom
24 - 105mm zoom
17 - 40mm f4 zoom
135mm f2 prime
1.4x and 2x converters
I process all my pictures in Photoshop software.
I love the sport and I have the greatest admiration for the riders, a number of whom, over the years, I became great friends with.
My pictures appear in a whole load of publications including:
Speedway Star Magazine
Inside Speedway (Australia)
Speedway Bike (Australia)
